Michelle’s Personal Approach to Counselling

At the core of Michelle's approach is her belief that every individual is beautifully imperfect, and that true perfection lies not in being flawless, but in embracing authenticity. She feels deeply privileged to work alongside her clients, earning their trust and developing a greater understanding of their unique perspectives and aspirations.

Michelle is dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families in exploring their emotional landscapes and navigating life’s challenges. She believes that therapy is most effective when adapted to the unique needs of each client. Some clients may prefer a more depth focused approach, leading towards exploring emotional patterns, while others may lean towards tools and more solution focused approaches, in favour of more immediate change. By combining several approaches, Michelle endeavours to provide therapy that is both insightful and practical, helping clients make meaningful progress in their emotional and personal growth. It is important to her that each person she works with feels heard, understood, and empowered on their journey - wherever they are hoping to go!

Her personal journey of raising two teenage children, maintaining a long-term relationship, being a caregiver for aging parents, along with over two decades of experience in the corporate world, has created a wealth of experiences that provide her with valuable insights into the dynamics of personal and family relationships. These diverse experiences help her attune to the challenges her clients face, both personally and professionally.

Michelle’s own experiences as a client in therapy have shown her the profound impact a strong relationship with a counsellor can have, particularly when grounded in acceptance and understanding. She is committed to creating a safe and empathic space where clients can explore their challenges at their own pace.

Here, you are encouraged to express yourself openly, knowing you will be met with care and respect, all leading towards personal growth and lasting change!

Michelle welcomes diverse clients of all backgrounds, orientations, and beliefs.
