I am here to hold a space where you can show up just as you are, and I invite you to experience your thoughts and emotions not as burdens requiring management but as evidence of your humanity, which we can choose to care for with tenderness.

As you consider whether therapy might be a supportive choice for you, it is possible that you are feeling alone and yearn for a more authentic connection with yourself and others.

Perhaps you repeatedly find yourself engaged in self-criticism, unable to find relief from your thoughts or show yourself kindness. You might find that your emotions feel unpredictable, overwhelming or perhaps you feel disconnected from them altogether.

It may be that you are facing any number of life changes that are bringing up uncertainties regarding the messages you’ve received about how you ‘should’ live your life.

My role is to hold a space where you can show up just as you are, assured that you will be met with care and compassion. Fundamentally, I believe that we all have the capacity for healing, growth, and connection.

My intention is to meet you on your journey and honour your pace while inviting you to experience your thoughts and emotions not as burdens requiring management but as evidence of your humanity, which we can choose to care for with tenderness.

Common concerns I specialize in:

·   Anxiety

·   Depression

·    Self Worth

·      exploration of identity, including gender and sexuality

·    Body Image issues

·      Trauma and attachment

·   Childhood Trauma, Abuse & Neglect

·    chronic pain

·    chronic illness

·      Relational challenges (including traditional & alternative relationships)

·   Life Transitions (including loss, relationships, health, career etc.)

My Approach

By taking a collaborative approach, our therapy will honour your lived experience and together we will establish a direction for our work that feels supportive of your goals. With warmth and patience, we will explore the connections between your emotions, beliefs, and behaviours. Through this process I will support you to experience your emotions in ways that develop awareness of your body and nervous system, tuning in to the wisdom they hold and learning to use these internal resources as guides to work with, rather than against. In our work you can expect us to explore what you’re struggling with presently, as well as how your history may be playing a role in your pain. My approach is also informed by the work of feminist and anti-oppressive thinkers. I hope to support you in cultivating awareness of your needs and boundaries, building on your capacity to be in touch with your emotions, and finding intentional ways to nurture your wellbeing within yourself and your relationships.

Through connection to ourselves, our bodies, and our communities we can undo experiences of aloneness and rebuild a sense of safety and ease. These connections are shaped by our context and identities. In the spirit of safety-building, I briefly offer the context of my own identities in the hopes that this may be supportive in your process of finding a counsellor: I am a white, settler, cisgender woman living and practicing on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I strive to be accountable to the ways in which my identities impact how I move through the world and show up in our work together.

I hold a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. I welcome clients of all cultures, genders, sexual orientations, abilities and relationship styles.
