Expressive Art Therapy Drop in with Natasha

  • New Tides Counselling and Wellness 1682 West 7th Ave Vancouver Canada (map)

Have you been feeling disconnected lately, found yourself at a point of transition, or wondered how to navigate a challenge on the horizon? Do you find it supportive to process your thoughts and feelings in the company of others?

Our Expressive Arts Therapy drop-in sessions might be for you. Come spend an evening exploring new ideas, new materials and new possibilities in a cozy  group setting. Expressive Arts Therapy is a creative, therapeutic practice that invites individuals to explore their inner world and experiences using creative modalities, such as movement, sound, visual arts, photography, and writing. Each session will have a theme that participants are welcome and invited to follow, if they feel called to do so.

One beauty of expressive arts therapy is that where you begin may not be where you end up, therefore not art or creative experience is required to participate. Materials will be supplied, however you are welcome to bring your own if there are materials you work with regularly, or have always been interested in but have never tried.

We will begin each session with a brief check-in and orientation to the of the session, then participants are welcome to engage in their own individual process or they might choose to work alongside others to share in the experience together. We will come together at the close of the session, with an invitation to reflect together on the creative work done.

Please note that your first yoga or art drop in is on us - if you bring a friend, they are also of course able to attend their first class for free as well!

About Natasha & Expressive Arts

As well as being a Certified Expressive Arts Therapist, I am also Registered Clinical Counsellor.

I have a particular passion for facilitating groups that foster connection and shared experiences among participants. In our sessions, I hope you feel welcome to take risks, experiment with new ideas and materials, and take time to reflect on what's stirring in you.

FAQ

Is this class beginner friendly?

This class is ABSOLUTELY beginner friendly, but has much to offer for experienced creators as well. If you have any questions or concerns about anything, you can chat with Natasha prior to class, or send us an email ahead of time at connect@newtides.ca

What do i bring?

Bring yourself, and an open mind! You are also welcome to bring a journal if you like to reflect during or at the end of class.

How do i sign up?

Since we are a counselling clinic with no reception, things will be a little different than a regular studio! You can still sign up on Jane (as you do for counselling) - just find the date on our online calendar HERE and make sure you sign our informed consent and put a credit card on file before you come to class.

We are a small, cozy studio - registration is required to ensure everyone has a spot!

How do pay for, or cancel my class?

Your credit card will be charged 24 hrs before class, but you can cancel anytime before then by emailing our front desk (connect@newtides.ca)
