WORKSHOP:
Yoga ‘Toolbox’ for Increased Body Awareness & Emotional Wellbeing

This 3-hour workshop involves education on the impact of stress, trauma and anxiety on the nervous system and how yoga and mindfulness can provide individuals with everyday tools to help create emotional resilience and well-being.

What is Mindfulness? How will yoga help?

Mindfulness and Yoga for Mental Health

Mindfulness is the practice of:

Paying attention to our experience in the following ways: intentionally, non-judgementally, and in the present moment… which is not always as easy as it sounds!

Practicing mindful yoga is useful in increasing self-awareness and uncovering patterns as well as creating curiosity, compassion and tolerance of uncomfortable and difficult experiences.

I will assist you in learning how to develop and practice strategies involving movement, breath, and mindful awareness to address both physical responses (i.e. shallow breathing) and cognitive responses (i.e. constant rumination) to emotional distress.

Who are these workshops designed for?

Do I have to be flexible?

As these sessions are customized for each individual group’s needs, this workshop is appropriate for most youth and adults without serious physical injuries - you do not need to have previous yoga experience or be flexible! This workshop is designed for various groups or organizations who would like to support individuals’ day-to-day mental health and wellness, and can be specifically helpful to individuals looking to cope with anxiety, stress, depression, and improve overall emotional wellbeing, regulation, focus, and mindfulness skills. Individuals with serious injuries or trauma can speak to a doctor/counsellor and myself prior to participating in the workshop.
